houses of ginger and a marathon of Santa Claus(e)

The annual gingerbread and movie marathon fantasia-extravaganza happened on the 20th day of December.  Probably my favourite Christmas tradition.  Maybe because it is one of few that we have held on to for a while!
The day started around 3:00 (perhaps a little later than it should have - note to self) with the assembling of the houses/carousal.  We got a wonky, mixed up house that came with the wrong mold/foundation.  Thankfully, with the expert building prowess of Mia and a whole heck of a lot of icing, the thing actually held together.  Good thing Glenda didn't make any attempts to put it together (I have to get the jabs in for the very few areas that she is jab-able!)

Glenda took some photos as well, so now there are some super-flattering photos of me.  I'm so lucky.

Cade needed a little retreat.  Either that or he just was egged on to show his inner gecko.

After movie number one, we did a little eating of dinner, a lot of eating of gingerbread ornamentation, and a little decorating of houses.  Slop with Uncle Eric's pico de gallo is always on the menu.

Maddy also contributed some photos.  More flattering shots of me.

And the final results:  Lauren's snowman and woman.
La casa de Shandy, Cole and Cade.  Complete with Cade's adorable little nest with momma bird and eggs on top.

Timaya, Brooklyn and Mia's house.

Riley and Lucy's Christmas Carousal.

Then it was time for more sugar, more snacks and movie number three.
